CabinCast Support

Start here if CabinCast does not connect.

Most setup issues come from the hotspot connection, the browser address, iOS screen sharing permission, or iPhone heat. Work through these checks before contacting support.

Quick start

  • Connect your Tesla to your iPhone Personal Hotspot.
  • Open CabinCast and start screen sharing.
  • Open http://240.3.3.3:8080 in the Tesla browser.

If the page does not open

  • Confirm the Tesla is still connected to the iPhone hotspot.
  • Use http://, not https://.
  • Keep the port number: 8080.
  • Allow the iOS screen sharing permission if it appears.
  • Restart CabinCast and reopen the Tesla browser if the page still does not load.

If motion is unstable

  • Start with the stable quality option, then try higher quality after it is moving smoothly.
  • Hotspot quality and the Tesla browser can change how smooth the picture feels.
  • If the iPhone gets hot, choose a lower quality option and let the phone cool down.
  • If the screen freezes, stop sharing in CabinCast and start again.

Fullscreen and Supporter features

  • CabinCast is free to use for screen sharing.
  • The Supporter Pack helps fund CabinCast and unlocks experimental features like true fullscreen, PRO Codec, and Advanced Settings.
  • If an experimental feature is unstable in your car, switch back to the stable option.

Known limits

  • CabinCast shows your iPhone screen, but it does not control your iPhone from the Tesla screen.
  • Protected video may appear black because iOS blocks screen sharing for some content.
  • Stability depends on your iPhone, hotspot quality, Tesla browser, and heat.
  • Use the Tesla browser safely and follow local laws.

Before contacting support

  • iPhone model and iOS version.
  • Tesla software version.
  • Selected quality option.
  • Whether the page opens in the Tesla browser.
  • Whether the screen moves after it opens.
  • What was shown on the Tesla screen when the issue happened.
